  1. Why JEDI? – Carlsbad Democrats Co-founder Rob Howard

Comments by Rob. Rob presented a brief paper listing key points and facts about the vital JEDI effort. (A copy can be provided by request). For example:

  • Carlsbad Democrats must make the effort to invite and make everyone feel welcome. (Secretary’s note: All kinds of volunteer organizations, clubs, churches assume that people will come on their own initiative and then find their own way to “fit in.”)
  • The demographic groups that are most often missed by overlooking of bypassing are those who are disabled, and seniors, the elderly.
  • The demographic group most apt to be marginalized is the Muslim community.
  • General discussion followed on matters such as inclusivity.

  • The proposed expansion of the McClellan-Palomar Airport still lacks official definition.
  • The lawsuit has been closed.
  • Contact Hope directly Hope51@att.net. Also, their website c4fa.org
  • Firm commitment of County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer to be the needed “change-maker” re. the airport is still lacking. The Carlsbad City Council must be the last and best line of defense.
